Our Mission
We aim to build a strong bilateral relationship between the UK and the Netherlands. Our goal is to enhance our national integrated photonics communities by encouraging connections, promoting funding and collaboration opportunities, and highlighting expertise and the upcoming innovations in photonics.
Driving the Alliance
Well connected across the UK and Dutch integrated photonics ecosystems, we are a group of volunteers committed to fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and helping the community stay informed about emerging research, innovation, and business opportunities.
Mark Goossens
Wave Photonics, UK
Mark Goossens has been supporting the development of the integrated photonics community via his roles at the Compound Semiconductor Catapult and now Wave Photonics. Working to develop joint UK-NL and wider consortia and bringing together industry to develop future PIC solutions for applications ranging from datacentre, comms to quantum technologies.
Abdul Rahim
Photon Delta, NL
Abdul Rahim combines deep technical expertise in integrated photonics with a strong passion for innovation and ecosystem building. Through his work with PhotonDelta, he helps connect researchers, companies, and innovation organisations across Europe, fostering collaboration and accelerating the adoption of photonic chip technologies. With experience spanning research, entrepreneurship, and international partnerships, Abdul is committed to strengthening the integrated photonics community and creating opportunities for growth and impact.
Anke Lohmann
Anchored In, UK
Anke is the founder of Anchored In and works at the interface of research, innovation, and industry. She has supported photonics companies, universities, and research organisations in building partnerships and engagement strategies, particularly in the area of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Drawing on an extensive network across the UK and internationally, Anke is committed to connecting people, fostering collaboration, and helping the photonics community identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
